Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

" Sur la chaire de Moïse se sont assis les scribes et les Pharisiens :

Mat / Mt 23:3

All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men' s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

Ils lient de pesants fardeaux et les imposent aux épaules des gens, mais eux-mêmes se refusent à les remuer du doigt.

But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

" Pour vous, ne vous faites pas appeler "Rabbi" : car vous n' avez qu' un Maître, et tous vous êtes des frères.

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

Ne vous faites pas non plus appeler "Directeurs" : car vous n' avez qu' un Directeur, le Christ.

But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Fa izay lehibe aminareo no ho mpanompo anareo.

Le plus grand parmi vous sera votre serviteur.

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

" Malheur à vous, scribes et Pharisiens hypocrites, qui fermez aux hommes le Royaume des Cieux ! Vous n' entrez certes pas vous-mêmes, et vous ne laissez même pas entrer ceux qui le voudraient ! [

Mat / Mt 23:14

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Lozanareo, mpanora-dalàna sy Fariseo, mpihatsaravelatsihy! fa mandeha mitety ny ranomasina sy ny tany maina ianareo mba hahazoanareo na dia iray ihany aza ho proselyta; ary rehefa azonareo izy, dia ataonareo zanaky ny helo mihoatra indroa noho ianareo aza.

Loza ho anareo mpanora-dalàna sy Farisiana mpihatsaravelatsihy, noho hianareo mitetitety ny ranomasina sy ny tanety mba hahazo mpianatra na dia iray aza; ka nony mahazo hianareo, dia ataonareo zanaky ny gehen' afo mihoatra indroa noho hianareo.

" Malheur à vous, scribes et Pharisiens hypocrites, qui parcourez mers et continents pour gagner un prosélyte, et, quand vous l' avez gagné, vous le rendez digne de la géhenne deux fois plus que vous !

Mat / Mt 23:16

Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

Lozanareo, mpitarika jamba izay manao hoe: Raha misy mianiana amin' ny tempoly, dia tsy mampaninona izany; fa raha misy mianiana amin' ny volamena amin' ny tempoly, dia haningo-tena izy.

" Malheur à vous, guides aveugles, qui dites : "Si l' on jure par le sanctuaire, cela ne compte pas ; mais si l' on jure par l' or du sanctuaire, on est tenu. "

Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

Ry adala sy jamba! iza no lehibe, ny volamena va, sa ny tempoly izay nahamasina ny volamena?

Insensés et aveugles ! quel est donc le plus digne, l' or ou le sanctuaire qui a rendu cet or sacré ?

And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

Ary koa: Raha misy mianiana amin' ny alitara, dia tsy mampaninona izany; fa raha misy mianiana amin' ny fanatitra eo amboniny, dia haningo-tena izy.

Vous dites encore : "Si l' on jure par l' autel, cela ne compte pas ; mais si l' on jure par l' offrande qui est dessus, on est tenu. "

Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

Ry jamba! iza no lehibe, ny fanatitra, sa ny alitara izay mahamasina ny fanatitra?

Ry jamba, iza no ambonimbony kokoa, ny fanatitra sa ny otely izay mahamasina ny fanatitra?

Aveugles ! quel est donc le plus digne, l' offrande ou l' autel qui rend cette offrande sacrée ?

Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

Ary izay mianiana amin' ny lanitra dia mianiana amin' ny seza fiandrianan' Andriamanitra mbamin' izay mipetraka eo amboniny.

jurer par le ciel, c' est jurer par le trône de Dieu et par Celui qui y siège.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Lozanareo, mpanora-dalàna sy Fariseo, mpihatsaravelatsihy! fa mandoa ny fahafolon' ny solila sy ny aneta ary ny komina ianareo, nefa navelanareo izay lehibe amin' ny lalàna, dia ny rariny sy ny famindram-po ary ny finoana; ireto tokony ho nataonareo, nefa tsy tokony havelanareo ireroana.

Loza ho anareo, ry mpanora-dalàna sy Farisiana mpihatsaravelatsihy, fa ny ampahafolon' ny solila sy ny aneta ary ny komina aloanareo; nefa ny zavatra lehibebe kokoa amin' ny Lalàna tsy tandremanareo, dia ny rariny sy famindram-po ary ny finoana. Izany no tsy maintsy arahinareo, nefa ireroa koa tsy azonareo avela.

" Malheur à vous, scribes et Pharisiens hypocrites, qui acquittez la dîme de la menthe, du fenouil et du cumin, après avoir négligé les points les plus graves de la Loi, la justice, la miséricorde et la bonne foi ; c' est ceci qu' il fallait pratiquer, sans négliger cela.

Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Ry mpitarika jamba! tantavaninareo ny moka, nefa atelinareo ny rameva.

Ry mpitari-dalàna jamba, ny moka tantavaninareo, nefa ny rameva atelinareo!

Guides aveugles, qui arrêtez au filtre le moustique et engloutissez le chameau.

Mat / Mt 23:25

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Lozanareo, mpanora-dalàna sy Fariseo, mpihatsaravelatsihy! fa diovinareo ny vohon' ny kapoaka sy ny lovia, nefa ny ao anatiny dia feno rombaka sy tsi-fahononana.

Loza ho anareo, ry mpanora-dalàna sy Farisiana mpihatsaravelatsihy, fa ny vohon' ny kapoaka sy ny lovia diovinareo, nefa ny ao anatiny feno halatra sy tsy fahononana.

" Malheur à vous, scribes et Pharisiens hypocrites, qui purifiez l' extérieur de la coupe et de l'écuelle, quand l' intérieur en est rempli par rapine et intempérance !

Mat / Mt 23:26

Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

Ry Fariseo jamba! diovy aloha ny atin' ny kapoaka sy ny lovia, mba ho madio koa ny vohony.

Ry Farisiana jamba, diovy aloha ny atin' ny kapoaka sy ny lovia mba ho madio koa ny vohony.

Pharisien aveugle ! purifie d' abord l' intérieur de la coupe et de l'écuelle, afin que l' extérieur aussi devienne pur.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men' s bones, and of all uncleanness.

Lozanareo, mpanora-dalàna sy Fariseo, mpihatsaravelatsihy! fa ianareo dia tahaka ny fasana voalalotra fotsy, izay miseho tsara tarehy eo ivelany, nefa ny ao anatiny dia feno taolan' ny maty mbamin' ny fahalotoana rehetra.

Loza ho anareo, ry mpanora-dalàna sy Farisiana mpihatsaravelatsihy, fa tahaka ny fasana voalalotra fotsy hianareo eto ivelany ka miseho ho tsara, fa ao anatiny feno taolam-paty sy olitra.

" Malheur à vous, scribes et Pharisiens hypocrites, qui ressemblez à des sépulcres blanchis : au-dehors ils ont belle apparence, mais au-dedans ils sont pleins d' ossements de morts et de toute pourriture ;

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Dia tahaka izany koa ianareo: raha amin' ny eo ivelany dia miseho amin' ny olona ho marina, nefa ny ao anatinareo dia feno fihatsaram-belatsihy sy tsi-fankatoavan-dalàna.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

" Malheur à vous, scribes et Pharisiens hypocrites, qui bâtissez les sépulcres des prophètes et décorez les tombeaux des justes,

And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

" Serpents, engeance de vipères ! comment pourrez-vous échapper à la condamnation de la géhenne ?

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

C' est pourquoi, voici que j' envoie vers vous des prophètes, des sages et des scribes : vous en tuerez et mettrez en croix, vous en flagellerez dans vos synagogues et pourchasserez de ville en ville,

That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa: Hanody ity taranaka ity izany rehetra izany.

Izaho milaza marina aminareo fa tsy maintsy hihatra amin' ity taranaka ity izany rehetra izany.

En vérité, je vous le dis, tout cela va retomber sur cette génération !

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

" Jérusalem, Jérusalem, toi qui tues les prophètes et lapides ceux qui te sont envoyés, combien de fois ai-je voulu rassembler tes enfants à la manière dont une poule rassemble ses poussins sous ses ailes..., et vous n' avez pas voulu !

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

Voici que votre maison va vous être laissée déserte.

For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
